Having fun at the beach

brothers

Could it be any sweeter?

C digging (can you see my ridiculous shadow in this pic?)

Didn't take many photos--especially of us adults.  No need to burn our retinas.

House Update

So still no offer, but we did hear from our realtor today.  She heard from her clients and things went through with the inheritance.  They are busy all week and want to get together with the realtor on Sat.  She's pushing for them to do it sooner (not sure that's going to work out).  We're hoping we will have an offer by Sat.  I'm not sure if we should just be cautiously hopeful as this seems to keep getting pushed back.  Please pray that this will go through and it is a reasonable offer we can all accept.

A favorite part of vacation: the Dolphin Cruise

So one thing we all did together on vacation was take a boat ride looking for dolphins.  I thought this would be fun, but had no idea how excited I would get EVERY time I saw a dophin.  We actually got to see a pod swimming right next to our boat (at the very end of the ride), so I was super excited.  We could see most of their bodies--not just their fins. I jumped and kind of yelled each time we spotted one.

Colin getting excited about "spotting" a dolphin.  He thought he saw one all the time.  He'd say--"there it is...I see him."

The captain made fun of my enthusiasm when it was time for the little kids to drive the boat.  The captain had a very funny sense of humor.

Colin's turn to drive the boat.  He wouldn't smile (he was too serious about his job), so the captain started tickling him, and squeezing his face.  It worked.

My brother, Ken, and his wife, Traci

This was so much fun--and all the kids were good on the boat for almost 2 hours.  We got to see beautiful sunsets on the way home and beautiful houses on the way out.

Back to Business

Well, we're back from our amazing week in Hilton Head.  We had a great time and I got to meet up w/some of my super sweet high school friends.  It was great.  We feel we had a great blend of relaxation and fun.  I'll do several posts over the week of our highlights, but to get you drooling over the beach here are a couple of stock photos from the house we stayed and a couple of general scenery shots my dad.

the view walking up to the beach (a short 10 min walk from our house)

sunset on our boat during our dolphin cruise (this is my nephew in the photo)

This was our awesome house--these photos must be a couple years old b/c the decor in some places is different, and I can't see the gate into the property right next to the house, and the plants in the backyard are missing.  Most importantly though--do you notice all the patios--my favorite part.  I read on the back one (the one on the main level) most every day.  Awesome!

The living room--it only looked this clean before we got there and after we left.

the kitchen--once again never this neat while we were there--w/11 people--3 of them kiddos

the dining area--perfect for the adults and games

the game room--the boys LOVED this.  C wanted to be in the pool, at the beach, or in the game room.

This was the bedroom Scott and I had--by far the least impressive.  Everyone else had awesome suites, but this room ain't too shabby.  Everyone had their own private bathroom (except the bunk room on the 3rd floor)

This was C's room--right next to ours and shared a patio w/us.  We had a pack and play for him--not ready for a big boy bed, but he loved reading in the beds--especially when cousin Nic read to him.

WONDERFUL vacation. More pictures soon--Scott took our camera to work, so I need to spend some time organizing our photos.

This mean little boy

Can you believe this cute little boy can be such a meanie?  I'm really struggling w/C hitting other little kids and me--a lot.  It's very frustrating.  I have no idea what to do about it.

He can be such a sweety--he kept hugging this little girl at our house today (had a few kids over for a playdate)--he even gave her a kiss--and then he tackled her.  Embarrassing--all of it.  She then tackled him, and they fell straight onto the hard floor like a nestea plunge sandwich.

Weekend Part 2

I didn't take any pics from the game last night, but C had a good time.

Here are some pics from the the little fair we went to.  Notice a common theme: eating. This was the only time he was sitting still, so really the only photo opportunities.

Cramming a hot dog into his mouth at the little church fair.  Notice the wet spots on his pants?  He didn't pee his pants since he still wears diapers.  He was trying to drink lemonade out of a soda can--not very successful.  Spilled more of it than drank it.

You can really see the ketchup on his face here--so cute.

Everything at this fair was free--food, games, bounce house etc.  It was fun for a little while.

I forgot to take pics at the ball game, but oh well--he mostly ate--the only way he sits still.  The highlight for him though was riding on a school bus (they were running these as a shuttle from the far parking lots).  As soon as we got to the ball park off the bus he started talking about riding the bus back to the car.

Yesterday was a fun and lazy day.  We needed it after the busy weekend.  I was going to take C to the parade, but he couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to go.  By the time he decided he wanted to go it was too late.  Scott's knee really needed the rest after all the walking we did though.
