Instead of being snowed in, I think I'm officially swelled in. The doctor told me today I basically can't go anywhere. I'm not even sure he wants me going as far as St. Louis. I had a huge weight gain in the last two weeks, and it's all water weight, and I've got 8 weeks to go in hot weather. My blood pressure remains good, but he says swelling this early is not a good sign and funny things tend to happen. He wasn't alarmist about it, but definitely cautionary. So I'm looking forward to school getting out and putting my feet up I guess. Not much else I can do. If you've ever been one of the lucky ones to swell you know how uncomfortable it is. My hands are constantly stiff. I wake up and can barely work them. My feet barely fit in any shoes, and the more I have to stand the bigger they get. Scott calls me club foot. Isn't he sweet.

Swelled in! Warning: these pictures might be alarming. They most definitely aren't flattering.

My shower
Well, I didn't get many pictures from the shower to show how cute everything looked, but it was very nice. Sarah did an awesome job decorating. We had antique tablecloths on every table, and flowers in teapots on each table. We had delicious food. Everyone that helped out outdid themselves. It was so great to be able to see so many of my St. Louis friends. I wish I could have had more time to get around to talk to everyone. Everyone was so generous. We got tons of diapers and wipes in assorted sizes, which is awesome. We got lots of great stuff for the little guy, too. I missed all my out of town friends that couldn't be there. Here's a couple of belly pictures of Missy and me. She and I are due on the exact same day, but she's having a little girl.

First SURPRISE shower
I had an amazing surprise at school today. My second hour AP students threw me a surprise shower. It was the sweetest thing. I have a picture of the gifts they gave me here. I took a picture of the cake one of my girls made, but it was on my phone, and didn't show up well. I was so overwhelmed by their action. They are such a great group of kids. I got a lot of cute onsies, toys, binkies, towels, blankets, and clothes.

Looking forward to my shower
I'm getting really excited about my shower this Saturday. My parents are coming to St. Louis for the weekend, so I'm thrilled to be able to see them, as we haven't really seen them since January.
On a note of extreme praise, I'm going to be able to work part time next year. I will have one class (95 min. block) every day. I'm so thankful for this as it will allow me to keep to a schedule and get out the house daily, but still be able to be at home with our little guy most of the day. Now comes the headaches of scheduling child care and all that fun stuff.

Less than 3 months to go
We need to take some new pics to post. I have approximately 11 weeks to go. I can't believe it. Part of me feels like that's so soon, but another part of me thinks--why not next week? Pregnancy has not been the most fun for me as many of you know. If it's a possible side effect/symptom, I've had it. I had to take the 3-hour test for gestational diabetes last week, and thankfully I'm assuming it came back negative. I haven't heard from my doctor, and I took it almost a week ago, so I'm feeling in the clear for that.
Rock band
So I meant to post this about a month ago when I first experienced the game Rock Band. I really enjoyed it, but had kind of forgotten about it until I was at a Cinco De Mayo party on Friday night where the game was in full force. There is something hilarious about adults pretending to be rock stars. Those few minutes we can relish and believe we are playing for an audience. The party experience was really fun b/c I had only played it with Scott, Mitch, and Sarah (sister in law and her fiance). Everyone in that group was actually good at the instruments/vocals. We actually progressed really far. But at this party it was a riot. I saw my principal try out the drums (the hardest instrument), and several vice principals rock out on the guitar. The vocals were by far the worst. We arrived at the party to a horrible group vocal on "Dead or Alive". Throughout the 2.5 hours we were there I'm sure we heard that same song 4-5 times, each time horrific in its own right. Lots of fun though. As far as video games go I give it an A+ for entertainment.
