Not the best blogger

I don't have anything interesting to blog about. Scott feels better. We had Easter at our house on Saturday, which went well. Then we recuperated all day Sunday. I'm on Spring Break this week. The weather is not beautiful, and I'm bored. I don't want to grade papers like I should. I just feel incredibly lazy. I exercised for the first time yesterday. It's a lot harder when you have a lump on your stomach. I spent so much time on the couch for three months being so sick that I have no muscles left. Add the extra weight, and I'm sore. I can't wait for this baby to get here, and I've still got over 4 months. Needless to say, I don't enjoy being pregnant, but I'm excited for him to get here. We pick up our crib this weekend, so I guess we'll work on getting the nursery together soon.

Sickness in the house

Scott has been very sick with the flu the last three days. He has missed two days of work this week, and the doctor advised him to stay home tomorrow as well. In six years of marriage I have never known Scott to miss three days of work for being sick. I know this is very hard for him, but he really should not be going. On top of that he has a coworker who recently had a liver transplant, so Scott has to be careful not to pass it along to him.

We are crossing are fingers that I don't come down with it since he is having to take two kinds of antibiotics to fight it. Please pray that he gets over this quickly and can return to work. March is the last month of their fiscal year, so it is vital he be there to ensure his branch meets their quotas.

Ultrasound pictures

Well, I've finally got these ready to be put online. I'm just putting one of each view b/c they gave us several of a couple views. The ultrasound was amazing. They move that thing all over your stomach to see a little baby that's not even a pound. Those techs are amazing. I couldn't tell the difference b/w a kidney and a bladder, but thank goodness she could.

He had his legs over his head, and one arm behind his back. Very flexible. We got to see him hit at his feet with his fist, and we saw him bite at his toes and fingers.

In little boy fashion, the baby was happy to show us his stuff any chance he could get.

This is one of my favorites. He really likes to flex his muscles. The tech labeled his bicep "gun" which was really cute.

The picture on the far right is a profile of his face. My father-in-law says he looks just like Alfred Hitchcock. I have to admit...he might be onto something.

Baby Dankel has a wiener

Well, for those of you betting on male, you were right. Scott was very surprised to hear he was having a boy. The surprise quickly gave way to excitement. He said he couldn't focus the rest of the day after he went back to work. We can't wait to meet our little guy in a few months. He's quite active now, which I'm sure will continue once he's out of the womb.

Family pics

Scott thinks his face looks fat in our picture, so we took some new pictures today. If you haven't seen Scott in a while he has lost 15-20 pounds, so it is quite a difference. He was hoping to get on an indoor soccer league as an independent, but couldn't find a team. Maybe next season.

Prego Pics

So these are the first pictures we have taken since I've been pregnant. Unfortunately instead of looking pregnant I mostly look like I've been binge drinking. I'm still waiting for my belly to look unmistakably pregnant. I think I felt the baby kick today. It kicked me square in the stomach. I was not expecting it. It was really strong, so I'm guessing "Bert" will be a soccer player.

A rude awakening

Come July our boys are going to find out they are no longer number 1. Poor guys.

Thoughts from a first time mom-to-be

I never knew having a baby would involve so many choices before the baby is even born. I went to Babies R Us a couple of weeks ago to get an idea of some things we might want. What I ended up with was a huge headache, a lack of sleep, and a cold. I was so overwhelmed. I swear the folding mechanisms on strollers are smarter than I am. I couldn't believe how many choices there are for any item you can think of. I'm feeling better now though. I sent for help from many great moms I know and with their advice have discovered no one agrees on what is best. That seems like it wouldn't make me feel better, but it did. I sorted through all they had to say, especially the tips on what not to get, and have made myself a list. Now I will be ready when we go to register in a couple of weeks. I don't think I'll get sidetracked by every little item out there.

First time blogger

I feel like one from the dark ages. This is my first time blogging. I had no idea it would be this easy. I'm at home today enjoying a day off from school and a day so far free from being sick. Scott and I are counting the days until we find out the sex of little Bert. For those of you who don't know that is the pet name that everyone in our family uses to refer to to the baby. I have no mother's intuition about the sex, but Scott thinks girl. His mom disagrees and thinks boy. I'm just hoping for a healthy bugger.
