I'm no expert on blogging, so all of this is a phenomenon to me. Evidently you can play games across blogs. I've been "tagged" by my friend Deb, so I'm supposed to list seven things about myself that people probably don't know. Hmm...this could be hard. I don't conceal much that's interesting.
1. I took a poop in a display toilet in Montgomery Ward when I was about 4 years old. My mom wouldn't take me to the bathroom b/c she was in line at customer service. She told me to go alone. I went all right. I went straight to the demo toilets. It was the 80s, these stores had those round display set ups, so it was pretty private and in the back of the store. The "bathroom" I selected had a rug, a toilet, a sink, a toilet cover (those rug like things), and toilet paper. How did I know it wouldn't flush and wasn't connected to any plumbing? I went to my mom, told her what I had done (and where). Humiliated she told the guy at customer service and we got out of there as fast as possible.
2. When I was 6 or so my eyes turned from blue to green. I prayed to God constantly that my eyes would turn back. I just knew no one would love me if I wasn't the blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl anymore.
3. I changed my mind about my career/major at least 6 times in 2.5 years of college.
4. I absolutely did not want to date Scott Dankel. I thought he was funny, but way too over the top and crude. I thought he was embarrassing. I finally went out with him b/c he went out with someone else (how junior high, I know). I proceeded to break up with him 3 times. One time we got back together, and I broke up with him within an hour. We finally got back together six months later, and have been together ever since.
5. I once went to audition for the Mickey Mouse club, but chickened out prior to the audition. I saw the competition and knew I didn't need to be there. Interestingly enough, I think the show only lasted one more year or so.
6. I participated in a New Kids on the Block lip synch competition with 2 friends at a mall over 2 hours away from the house. How did we convince my friend's dad to take us there? I have no idea. We performed to "My Cover Girl." There were three of us. The two girls on the outside of our formation wore black shorts and a white t-shirt, and the girl in the middle wore...you guessed it...white shorts and a black t-shirt. How creative were we?!? Needless to say we didn't win. Four high school boys won first place and front row tickets to the concert.
7. I was a serious prankster in high school. My friends and I had an elaborate system of pranking people and leaving our calling card: The Four Stooges. No one knew who we were, and lots of other girls got blamed by a bunch of football and baseball players for our pranks. We finally had to send the guys a hint to give ourselves away at the very end of the year.
Now I need to tag someone...Becca and Stephanie.

My own personal heater
I got so hot in my classroom today I thought I would pass out. I think my partner and all my students shared that thought. We busted out the box fans and they were all like "go sit by the fan," "let Mr. Ware take over for a little while." That's exactly what I did, and I felt much better. I was actually starting to break out into a sweat. That's one of the great things about having a partner...I was able to go take a short break and get my thermostat under control. In a funny sort of related story...a pregnant woman was not the one to pass out in class today. A teaching intern passed out while presenting his very first lesson. I thought I was hot--he must have been burning up. I heard about it after school. It was evidently hot in the room (like ours), and he was setting up his lesson for the kids, and bam--he fell right over. It made me feel a little better for myself, but how embarrassing for that guy.
Miscellaneous
I can't believe I'm almost 3 months from our little guy getting here. His kicking is getting stronger, and Scott was able to feel him for the first time the other night. It was really fun seeing his face. He didn't really think he was going to be able to feel the kick b/c every time we had tried the baby went still. Ahh, but sweet success--he gave him a swift kick. The baby's active time is becoming more predictable. He seems to be active at certain times of day. I've had to say see you later to my wedding band and diamond. It no longer fits. I could barely get it off, and I'm glad I removed it when I did. I had my first stranger ask me if I was pregnant yesterday. It was exciting. I think most people just think I'm plump, so I was very grateful to her. She was just a random lady I was talking to while walking the dogs in the park, but she made my day.
Standing all day is becoming increasingly difficult as my feet are swelling just like my hands. Shoes are becoming a nightmare, and I can barely tie my shoes when I go for walks. I think Scott is on a mission to find me slip ons, so he doesn't have to watch me reposition myself over an over again until I can reach my laces.

Nursery
We put the crib together this weekend. It came in super early, and we wanted to make sure we had all the parts. They told us to order 4 months in advance, and it arrived in 2 weeks. It looks really great in the room. We have it squeezed in the room while it's still serving as a guest room until June. It's fun to see how it looks though. Pictures to follow when we get it all arranged.
24 week pictures
Well, I've made it two whole weeks without throwing up. That's got to be a record for me since being pregnant. Not even a dry heave. I've had only a couple of days where I felt I might, but I didn't. Small milestones. It only lasted 10 weeks longer than the first trimester. Here are the latest pictures. I never really hated pictures of myself until I've been pregnant. I don't realize how much weight I've gained until I see it frozen in time. I have to ask myself, how could I gain all that weight vomiting as much as I did. I guess I'm making up for it now.
I am getting so excited to see all my friends' little bundles of joy that are arriving this month. Nicole and Stephanie are due this week and my friend Rayel is due at the end of the month. It's an eventful month. My parents are stopping in Thursday night to see us on their way to my nephew's second birthday. I'm excited to see them, even if it's just a short time since we haven't seem them since January.
In other news...my partner has been in Egypt the last two days, and I've had all our classes alone. No big deal right? It's not really, but my feet are killing me. Standing all day is hard on this prego's feet. My feet are already swelling like sausages. I can't wait to see what they look like in July.
