Here's a photo I snapped quickly while I was waiting to pick C up from school. The kids were in the lobby playing duck, duck, goose. While the parents were waiting for pickup we started to hear the kids coming down the hallway playing instruments. I grabbed my camera quickly and thankfully he was at the end of the line, so I was able to get a shot. The day had been all about hearing and things that make noise--which is why they were parading w/instruments. It was so cute. As you can tell, C was slowing up the line b/c he was busy dancing to the music. There was at least 4 or 5 feet between him and the kid in front of him.

Halloween
I'm finally posting the 2 pictures we have from our Halloween activities.
We went to my moms' group Halloween party again this year. C was a little tired, but had a great time running around with all the other superheros (which seemed to be the most popular genre of costume). It's like he walked in, saw everyone, and thought, "these are my people." I wouldn't let him wear his Halloween costume, so he chose to wear Superman jammies w/a cape. Scott and I were 50's/60's people. I pulled out my poodle skirt from high school and Scott found some stuff in his closet.
Halloween night I felt pretty bad, so Scott cooked chili and took C trick or treating. They were gone about 45 minutes. They came back after 3 min. to put a sweatshirt on underneath his costume b/c it was so cold. He struggled with his nose bleeding the whole time (as you can see in the pic we have). He was a cute little Captain America. I didn't get any photos from his preschool costume parade, but he got to wear his costume there, too. He and I had stopped by Schnucks before to pick up cupcakes and he got a lot of attention.

He's carrying 3 spare capes that he insisted go in the car with us.

Scattered thoughts
I feel like all we're capable of handling over at the Dankel household is watching television. I feel like a complete failure as a parent. My lil' guy desperately wants to play (and watch tv), but I seem to not have the strength to play. It sucks! Sometimes I literally can't keep my eyes open while I'm holding a toy. I've allowed C to watch way more tv than normal b/c we don't go anywhere that's not mandatory--i.e. we don't run errands that suck up time. I do all my errands while he's at preschool since it's close to everything. Therefore on a day like today, we won't leave the house until almost 1 pm, which for us is crazy, but I've got nothing. C is always asking me, where are we going. Honestly, I just want to camp out in my bedroom for the next 2.5 months, but I have a 3 yr old that says no. Thankfully we do have commitments 5/7 days a week or we would literally go nowhere. I've had friends help with him, which I'm tremendously grateful for, but the kid's got mad energy sometimes and the weather is terrible. Thankfully C is going to St. Louis Wednesday afternoon, so he can receive some attention and stimulation.
We have been wrapped up in the Star Wars galaxy at our house lately. We have watched the first 3 movies, and will probably watch the next 3 next week. We've also been reading some library books about the Star Wars galaxy as well. C says when he grows up to be Aniken Skywalker he'll never go to the dark side.
He also had Scott read him over 100 pages of Eragon before he sort of lost interest--I think he only lost interest b/c he's so into Star Wars.
Even more randomness. I had my credit card declined Sat. night when I went out for dinner for a girlfriend's bday. I didn't think much of it b/c I wasn't sure if it was declined or wouldn't scan (which I sometimes have issues with at certain places). Then we went for pizza after church on Sunday. Scott's card was declined. We were freaking out. We assumed our credit card account number had been stolen and our card was maxed out--which would be crazy. We've never gone over 35 % of our credit limit, so it's plenty large. Scott paid and then on the way home he called the credit card company. They had frozen our account for suspicious charges. She had him confirm all our recent transactions to make sure our identity hadn't been stolen. It hadn't. Unfortunately he heard his Xmas present--it's from a British specialty store that only sells men's stuff. Ughhh! What had set the card off was the British store and three purchases at Walmart in 1 day. 1 at one store and then 2 at another Walmart in town. Nope--that was just us being really inefficient. I had gone after my haircut to the one in Normal. Then after lunch, C and I went to the video store to rent the next 2 Star Wars--they didn't have them. So, Scott and I decided to just buy the whole saga, so we went to the Bloomington Walmart (closer to our house). We also needed ice cream. We went to get the DVDs and couldn't find them. They kept the Star Wars saga behind the electronics counter, so we had to pay for it in that department, and then we had to buy ice cream at the front. So, my Christmas gifts will be somewhat expected--though he's not sure exactly what he's getting. So after Scott verified everything we were relieved.
