Potty Training Part 2: Day 2

As I listen to my little guy yell "weee" from his bedroom during naptime (not napping much is a normal occurence these days), I finally have a chance to decompress from the last 36 hours or so of potty training.    We are going hard core this time--no pull ups except during naptime, therefore, by 11 am this morning we were already on our 4th pair of underwear.  We've had 1 pee accident and 2 poo accidents this morning.  Luckily they were easy cleanups--but just makes for a lot of laundry.  Yesterday he had an accident and literally left a pool of pee to clean up in front of his play kitchen. I think he is sort of getting it (slowly), but I still don't have a good answer for the pooing in the toilet.  We don't have a seat that seems to work for him.  He starts to freak out as soon as he tries to sit down and push. He doesn't seem like he can do it.  This is frustrating b/c I have no idea how to help him with this.  It seems like the pee control will come after a little patience on all our parts, but I'm not so sure about the pooping.  I know he doesn't really want to poop in his underwear, but he's not sure what else to do when the mood strikes yet.    I think potty training might be a special kind of hell reserved for parents, followed closely by sleepless nights, helping kids with their homework, teenage driving, and dating (obviously all different stages of parenting--and none fun).

I hope I have my sanity by the end of the week. Since we can't go anywhere neither C or I are in a very good mood already, well, he's doing better than me probably.  We have to go to music class tonight, so at least we have to force ourselves out for a while.  I'm thinking a pullup over his underwear for the class.
