The big second b-day is over. Mitch took lots of photos w/my camera, but unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the overall look of the party: food, decorations, etc. But the photos he took are great! We had the construction theme, and boy did we have it. We roped off an area at the grands house for the construction zone. We had all sorts of signs, balloons, caution tape, and cones. The two most entertaining pieces were a giant cardboard house (made by Aunt Sarah from a refrigerator box). It was amazing. It had a working door, a window w/curtains and flower boxes. It was awesome. The kids painted it, and they loved that activity. They also loved the big box of dirt we had w/shovels and trucks.
Here's some photos of just these things.
He loved the dirt--hard to tear him away to open gifts.
The kids ate at this table (made of sawhorses and an old door) sitting on crates. it was so cute. They had a road drawn and construction truck to move (but they quickly got thrown into the dirt pile)
In their hats and toolbelts
(which stayed on all of 10 minutes, maybe)
