Six Weeks and Counting

I've got about 6 weeks until baby arrives--5 if I'm lucky the doctor said. Scott and I began attending birthing classes a week or so ago at the natural childbirth center in town. I think the classes are amazing...Scott thinks the classes are too crunchy. It's weird that we are sitting in on the same classes b/c he and I leave having heard different things, usually b/c of our preconceived notions. We were doing a guided imagery relaxation at the end of class, and she told us to imagine our baby, as he is now in the womb. I was fine with this. As soon as we got in the car, Scott tells me he almost lost it when she said that b/c all he could picture was a sea monkey. We had just watched Juno the night before, and the main character talks about the baby looking like a sea monkey. He said he had to try so hard not to laugh aloud, and he was glad the instructor hadn't noticed. He's determined to embarrass us some how. I met with a Doula this week that I think we are going to use for the birth. She seems very supportive, and will hopefully help me make it through the birth naturally. We get to tour the hospital next Thursday, and find out just how plausible it will be with their policies. Summer is creeping along. I'm bored, but I know it won't last much longer, and I should enjoy doing nothing.

I'm with Scott on the classes. I hated those things. My pregnancy hormones did not make me a good student. It was so hard to keep my smart mouth shut.

Are you still swelling? With Cora I swelled up real bad really early. I've heard drinking water with lemon helps your body to get rid of water.

Good luck with the natural birth. I hope everything turns out the way you want.
