C has run 3 races, and last week he did really great
Scott had a birthday. We celebrated across 3 weekends for his bday and Father's Day--seriously.
I have been working on C's superhero party--I hope it turns out.
Just normal every day stuff to keep up with.
A quick visit from my parents and oldest nephew (pics will be in another post)
A trip to St. Louis that started off the bday celebration.
2 carnivals (one here and one in St. Louis)
A little boy who tells us he needs to go pottie every time (finally) and doesn't wear pull ups anymore except overnight. (only had a couple of naptime accidents)
Here are some snapshots---few and far between.
a trip to Grant's Farm in St. Louis
it's a blur but I love this pic--can you tell he's waving? he's so big on the carousel now.
feeding the goats. he went inside the pen, but got scared from the mauling--these poor goats were starving
cooling off under the sprayers
checking out the clydesdales
a couple of weeks ago we met some friends at a fun community park for play and a picnic. C loves checking out the geese, ducks, and fish there. You can get very close to the pond's edge. This park is great b/c it has rubber on the playground instead of mulch or rocks, so if it's been rainy the kids can still play w/o getting a muddy mess. We've had tons of rain this month.
the bday cake C and I made for daddy. it was a homemade yellow cake. we made a rasberry, chocolate, banana filling for it, and then buttercream frosting. the crazy colors were to test out some colors for C's bday. it looks tie dyed kind of
this was the GIANT slide C went down all by himself. Scott was going to go with him, but the worker at the top sent C down alone. I was far away waiting in line to get a drink (which is why this pic is terrible), but I thought C was going to fly off the slide. I was scared. He popped up at the bottom and started dancing. He was very proud of himself. He rode a mini-ferris wheel by himself, too (and several other rides). He's getting so brave. At the little fair near St. Louis he did inflatable slides by himself and a little funhouse.
hanging out at the children's discovery museum with his buddy Max.
organizing his superhero trading cards (made by me) he has villains, too. do you see the marvel handout up on the box. he studies those pics from his handful heroes (mini heroes/villains you can keep in your pocket)
playing with them while he watches DC superfriends on tv
what is Batman doing? we discovered he loves the old stuff too--like Adam West's Batman--he was so into the movie we found on tv Sat afternoon. He just LOVES superheroes.
and finally a pic of my short hair. this is from the day I had it cut. i don't really wear it like this--it's pretty windblown here, but i haven't taken any pictures of me since that first day. my MIL took these, so i could have a picture to take to a hair stylist to recreate the cut.
