Diagnosis: Impetigo

That's right, little man has it.  He doesn't have the really scary, creepy kind that the internet shows you, but a much more subdued kind on the inside tip of his nose which has spread a bit to his skin between his nose and lip.  The doctor thinks a spot on his finger and bum is related as well (so something internal is going on as well). I almost didn't take him to the doctor this morning, but I'm so glad I did.  He's supposed to be taking two liquid antibiotics for it, and he won't.  So frustrating. He actually took them tonight, choked/coughed on the last sip and spit most of it back up.  Not sure how you get better if you won't/can't take the medicine.  So frustrating. 
Scott and I had a date night planned tonight, and had to find a different sitter at 11 am today b/c we were going to share a sitter, but impetigo is contagious, so we couldn't expose C to another kid.  I thought for sure we were going to have to cancel, but our little sitter came through.  C was quite excited she was coming to play with him.  He seems like he's feeling fine despite the nasty staph or strep virus living on his skin.  Scott and I are just crossing our figures we don't come down with it.  Scott has had a skin strep infection before, so he's probably got more to worry about.  So a few more days of me and C just playing together w/no other people to vary our time together.  The doctor says he won't be contagious by Monday, and said if he went to preschool/daycare he could return.  That seems sooo quick to me.
