I'm so stupid!

Another example of how my brain is mush. I lost my cell phone last week. I ended my cell phone service in November and got a Virgin Mobile phone to save some money. Unfortunately I lost my phone last Wednesday. I thought it fell out of my coat pocket on the way into school. This was so frustrating b/c Colin was so sick and I was unreachable by my sitter. Anyway, Saturday I had a bunch of errands to run, so armed with Scott's cell phone in case he needed to reach me, I bit the bullet and went to Best Buy to replace my phone. Not a big deal you can get them very cheaply ($9.99). I bought one, and it took 45 min. to do the whole swap b/c of the crowded store and problem with Virgin's website (which I always experience). I continued my errands. I was had finished at my next stop, and getting in my car, and I heard a phone ring. It wasn't my new phone and Scott's phone is usually on vibrate. I look around and what do I see? My old phone stuck b/w my seat and the console. Crap!!!. I just wasted an hour of precious time and $10 dollars for nothing. Had I just tried to call my phone and go out to my car I could have saved myself a huge headache (being w/o my cell phone Thurs. and Fri. and Scott being out of town, and Colin being sick and needing to go to the doctor) , but I had frozen my phone b/c I thought someone else might be in possession. Well, now I have a backup in case I decide to lose/not lose my phone again. Am I the only one who does this sort of stuff?
